Audition for the Maltese Falcon

After a successful script read-through, it is with great excitement that we announce our next radio play…

In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade gets more than he bargained for when he takes a case brought to him by a beautiful but secretive woman. As soon as Miss Wonderly shows up, trouble follows… Entangled in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue, Sam realizes he must find the one thing they all seem to want: the bejewelled Maltese falcon.

Auditions for The Maltese Falcon will be held on:

Tuesday 5th March 12.30-2pm in Cornwallis East 329 Thursday 7th March 5.30-7.30pm in Grimond Seminar room 4 (arrive from 5pm for a 5.30pm start)

It would be great if you’re able to attend both audition dates, but this is not essential. The audition process itself is fairly informal, with a chance to meet everyone and ask questions before the audition begins.

The Players are a super friendly group with diverse levels of experience, so everyone is welcome!

We will ease you into the audition with a couple of warm up exercises, before breaking into small groups to work on different sections of the script which will then be performed to the audition panel and the other auditionees.

There are a number of acting and non-acting roles available – we need everyone from cast to tech to front of house.

Please email us if you would like a copy of the script, rehearsal schedule or role descriptions. You’ll have the opportunity to let us know what role(s) you would like at the audition.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch. And if you’re new to The Players, or generally feeling a little unsure, then we’d be glad to meet up over a coffee and help put you at ease.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
