We were delighted to be awarded an accolade for Excellence in Drama in our region of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) for our production of Sense and Sensibility which took place in September 2018.
The Players have been awarded and accolade for Excellence in Drama in our region of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) for our production of Sense and Sensibility. The award was presented at the NODA Celebration Day which took place on Sunday 24 March 2019. Members of the ‘Dashwood Family’, Mrs Dashwood (Zarina Hawkins), Elinor (Robin-Rose Breetveld) and Marianne (Kat Flaxman) were there to represent the Players.
The Celebration Day took place at the Electric Theatre in Guildford and was attended by members of groups across the south-east NODA region. This annual event gives groups the chance to meet up, see what has been good and great from the previous year and to be inspired for the year to come.
The day comprised a hands-on workshop which gave attendees the chance to try out some new warm up and performance techniques, excerpts from productions - musicals, drama, comedy and opera - the AGM and the awards themselves.
The Players only joined NODA last summer and Sense and Sensibility was the first production our rep came to see. So, we were delighted to have been picked out for this accolade and look forward to building on that success in future productions.
